EVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY FARMING METHODS SUCH AS NATURAL AGRICULTURE CONTRIBUTE TO FOOD SECURITY: Despite the expansion of high-intensity, industrial agriculture (e.g. Green Revolution), most of the food consumed worldwide is still produced by smallholder farmers. Smallholder farmers need increased support as they are the key to the realization of food security in Africa.
NADPZ contributes to the achievement of four Millennium Development Goals:

- MDG 3: Promoting gender equality and empowering women
- MDG 7: Environmental Sustainability
- MDG 8: Global Partnerships
NADPZ aims to increase the nutritional yield and reduce the environmental impact of smallholder farms through the application of methods such as Natural Agriculture, while at the same time addressing the issues of food waste and market access for smallholder farmers, the challenge of feeding and supporting their families first, the community and their country can be met sustainably.
NADPZ’s Natural Agriculture farming method offers the prospect of sustainable food production to meet the needs and sustain rural households and communities, while addressing the reduction of GHG emissions from the agricultural sector, building climate change resiliency and protecting biodiversity.
To transform current agricultural practices throughout Africa to cost-effective, eco-agricultural approaches which empower and benefit small-scale rural farmers and local communities, while protecting biodiversity and nature.
NADPZ aims to empower rural women, youth and smallholder farmers to improve rural livelihoods, increase health and nutrition and reduce rural-urban migration through the practice of Natural Agriculture. NADPZ aims to become a self-sustainable project that does not solely rely on donor funding, but can maintain operations through the establishment of locally-based agricultural businesses.
